French Theater Outing

Each year, the French department organizes a day at the theater outing for the entire school. This past year, NSAL's annual A Day at the Theater outing took place at the Maison des Arts de Laval. Organized by the french department, students and staff got to hone their French skills by attending a play entitled Nordicité. Using video projections, puppets and giant polar bear suits, the play was a visual poem taking the audience on a journey between myths and Nordic realities.

Maison des Arts

Students are exposed to a local art gallery to see different types of art and get to experience the beauty that local artists can create.

Holocaust Memorial Centre

In ELA 1, we read The Boy In the Striped Pajamas and The Breadwinner. Both books explore what life is like for children in war situations.  As part of this unit, we visit the Montreal Holocaust Museum to look at the artifacts and listen to stories of survivors who experienced World War 2.  

Viva Vida Art

The owner of Viva Vida Art, came to our school to conduct creative and meaningful art workshops with our students. The students got to explore the theme of identity while creating special masks. Additionally, the students got to learn about a special painting technique and create unique graffiti artwork.
