Edward Silva Frade

Mr. Silva earned his Bachelor of Commerce in International Business from Concordia’s John Molson School of Business. His career path started with work in Sales Management, to travelling in Europe to record and perform as a songwriter and musician. With a Bachelor of Education from McGill University later added to these diverse and enriching life experiences, he is proud and excited to bring a comprehensive and hands-on approach to teaching the students of North Star Academy.

Over the last 5 years he has taught grade 7-11 French, grade 9 Music, grade 10 Drama, grade 7 History & Geography, grade 8 History and grade 10 History & Ethics. He is also the French department’s pedagogical leader.

Mr. Silva is well known for his passion for music and pop culture, which he weaves into the classroom curriculum.

Mr. Silva is a lifelong learner and uses what he learns to strategically guide and support students to breakdown the learning of a language in manageable ways.

He integrates his knowledge of music and culture into his teaching and connects with the students’ by bringing their interests in real world issues into the classroom.
